The Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, CON, and the National Coordinator of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), Engr. Aminu Bodinga Mohammed, featured on the NTA Tuesday Live programme to discuss the theme, “Global Agricultural Investment in Nigeria,”highlighting the Federal Government’s commitment to transforming Nigeria’s agricultural sector through strategic investments, improved rural infrastructure, and sustainable agricultural development.
The live television programme provided a national platform to showcase Nigeria’s efforts to attract both domestic and international investment into agriculture as a catalyst for economic growth, food security, employment generation, and rural prosperity.
During the discussion, Senator Abubakar Kyari, CON, highlighted the Federal Government’s ongoing initiatives aimed at modernising agriculture, improving productivity, expanding market opportunities for farmers, and strengthening the agricultural value chain. The programme also examined how strategic partnerships and investment-friendly policies are positioning Nigeria as an attractive destination for agricultural investment.
Engr. Aminu Bodinga Mohammed reaffirmed RAAMP’s commitment to improving rural accessibility and agricultural marketing through the provision of resilient rural road infrastructure and enhanced connectivity between farming communities and markets. He noted that improved rural access remains fundamental to reducing transportation costs, minimising post-harvest losses, increasing farmers’ incomes, and stimulating economic activities in rural communities.
The discussion further underscored the importance of collaboration among government institutions, development partners, private investors, financial institutions, and development agencies in accelerating agricultural transformation and creating sustainable livelihoods across Nigeria.
RAAMP continues to play a strategic role in supporting the Federal Government’s agricultural transformation agenda by improving rural infrastructure, enhancing market access, and promoting inclusive economic development in participating States.
