The National Coordinator of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), Engr. Aminu Bodinga Mohammed, participated as a frontline panelist at the Sustainable Development Without Borders: Partnership for Attaining Global Goals 2030 – Kano State Perspective conference held at the Amani Event Centre, Kano. The event brought together government officials, development partners, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss practical strategies for accelerating the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Nigeria.

Engr. Aminu Bodinga Mohammed joined other distinguished panelists during Panel 4, which focused on SDG Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure). The session explored opportunities for driving sustainable economic growth through investments in resilient infrastructure, innovation, clean energy, and inclusive development while addressing the challenges affecting infrastructure delivery in Nigeria and Kano State.

During the discussion, the RAAMP National Coordinator highlighted the critical role of rural infrastructure in unlocking agricultural productivity, improving market access, reducing transportation costs, and enhancing the livelihoods of rural communities. He emphasised that investments in resilient rural roads and supporting infrastructure are essential to strengthening agricultural value chains, promoting inclusive economic growth, and advancing sustainable rural development.

He further noted that RAAMP continues to support the Federal Government’s commitment to transforming rural communities by improving connectivity between farming communities and markets, thereby increasing economic opportunities, reducing post-harvest losses, and contributing to national food security.

The panel discussion also underscored the importance of strong partnerships among governments, development partners, the private sector, and local communities in mobilising the investments and innovations required to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

As one of the Federal Government’s flagship rural infrastructure initiatives, RAAMP remains committed to delivering sustainable infrastructure that promotes rural accessibility, agricultural marketing, economic inclusion, and long-term national development. Through its interventions across participating States, the Project continues to contribute significantly to Nigeria’s efforts to achieve the SDGs while improving the quality of life for millions of rural residents.
